Music & Wine Festival

CALL TO ARTISTS
Salem Vision
2020 was initiated by the City of Salem and has the support of
many other community organizations. One of the visions is to
create a vibrant downtown with performing art venues and live
music.
Go Downtown Salem is excited to launch a vibrant, new downtown
summer event “Summer in the City Music & Wine Festival” to
benefit Marion-Polk Food Share. It will be held Saturday,
August 9th and Sunday, August 10th and will become an annual
event. Go Downtown Salem is seeking an artist or artist team
to design a special art drawing that will be incorporated into
posters and all related printed materials. |

The Design
The committee is looking for a design that is dynamic,
creative and inspiring. The theme: “Summer in the City Music &
Wine Festival in Downtown Salem.” The design should inspire
area residents of cultures and ages…visitors from the
Willamette Valley to support downtown businesses, local
wineries, local entertainers, the arts and the historic beauty
of our downtown core. |

Guidelines
There is no limit.
|
Design Fee
The selected artist will be paid a flat fee of $300. |

Selection Process
The selection committee will review the submissions and select
the design. Artists must submit original design by the
deadline. If a design is received after the deadline it will
not be reviewed. |

Design proposals must include:
Completed Application Form, including design description
A printed version of the submission on 8.5X11 white paper |

|
Timeline:
Completed application form, including design description must
be received no later than Friday, April 28, 2008. |
